Amazigh World Congress for Military General Commander of south Libya region, the Touareg Ali Kenna to join the Libyan rebilion

General Ali KENNA
Commander of the south military region in Libya
Sebha, Libya

General Ali Kenna,

As you know, since last february, the Libyan people stand up against the dictatorial regime of Muammar Kadhafi. Who faithful to his methods of violent repression, leads a wild war against the civil populations, using heavy armament against cities and villages in all the regions of the country. The blind bombardments of the Kadhafi’s forces have already made thousands of dead people, wounded, exiles persons and causing enormous destructions. It is not a conflict between two armed forces but coward attacks against innocents, and whose authors will some day have to be accountable in front of the competent jurisdictions.

General Ali Kenna,
While meny soldiers of all ranks in the Libyan army, have already joined the popular resistance against Kadhafi’s criminal regime, we do not know, your position. Late, rumours run emphatically on the fact that you would have engaged your troops beside those of the Kadhafi’s army. At the moment, we give no credit to these rumours that accuse you, but to them, we ask you insistently to declare publicly that you are towards the free Libyan Forces.

General Ali Kenna,
You are a Tuareg, an Amazigh, wich means a free man. We are consequently persuaded that you cannot appruved the bloodthirsty tyranny of Kadhafi and even less stand up by his side. Kadhafi and its clan are a part of the past and already condemned by the people and the history. And if the death saves them, the International Criminal Court waits for them.

General, we are waiting for you and your soldiers, to be determinedly beside the people to end as quickly as possible, the sufferings of the innocents and the destruction of the country. Join the history, now!

This letter translated into several languages, will be passed on to you by all the possible channels.

The Congrès Mondial Amazigh (CMA) is an international NGO for the defense of the Amazigh people’s rights.

Touaregs to join the rebelion

Libya's Berber to boycott committee drafting constitution
(Reuters) - Libya's Berber minority will boycott a committee to draft a new national constitution, Berber leaders and the election commission said, in a move that complicates attempts to end oil and gas protests. CNN : Will Gadhafi defeat bring new freedom for Berbers in Libya?
(CNN) -- While the rebels in eastern Libya appeared divided and have struggled to make gains, their counterparts in the western Nafusa Mountains have enjoyed much greater success. Over the past few months, they have secured control over a wide area near the Tunisian border, a strategic position that helped open the way toward Tripoli, where the Gadhafi regime appears to have met its end. All this from a group of inexperienced fighters whose ranks include doctors, professors, students and even taxi drivers.... Full story - - Auteur: Peter Fragiskatos - Date : 2011-09-07 11:05:00

Libya’s Berbers: The New Factor in Post-Gaddafi Politics
Libya’s six-month-long rebellion against Muammar al-Gaddafi’s 42-year dictatorship may have overthrown the old regime. But what factors will determine the new one? Amazigh World Conference in Tenth Session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, New York, May 16-27, 2011
Our participation this year at this session holds a special significance because our people, the Amazigh people, indigenous people from North Africa, whom we call Tamazgha, are undergoing at this time a crucial period in our existence. As a result of colonization, our country has been divided into 10 States, and they all have the same policies toward the Amazighs: negation, concealment, marginalization and repression. For a few months now, some of these countries, such as Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Libya, have been witnessing popular uprisings against the antidemocratic systems that have ravaged these countries for decades and against which the Amazigh people have ...
